So last night, July 10
th, 2009 marks a landmark in my life. I was finally able to see what is probably my favorite all time movie on the big screen- THE TERMINATOR. It was at the
Brattle Theater in Harvard Square, Cambridge,
Massachusetts. I've seen this movie so many times but seeing it on the big screen just adds an element missing from every previous viewing. The explosions, car chases and gun shots were so much louder than I could ever imagine watching it on a TV. Michael
Biehn's heroism, Linda Hamilton's beauty and Arnold
Schwarzenegger's bigness
were even more brilliant than ever before, which I didn't think was possible.
Props to my friend
Six String for making the trek with me. Check out
his blog, it rules.
Congrats man! Haven't seen Cameron's hard action sci-fi masterclass on the big screen myself yet.
ReplyDeleteEww ... the shaky cam. Wish that shot was less hallucinogenic. Next time, bud.
ReplyDeleteAppreciate the fine comments but the blog has some work to do.
But Terminator theatrically rocked hard! Even with the typical "Brattle" experience things worked well for the presentation (once they corrected the framing). Looked phenomenal ..considering it's a dark film - the Kyle Reese alley chase sequence was telling and it looked great! Won't get that on the small screen.
Great stuff!
Six String - The picture is perfect. If it wasn't so hallucinogenic, I would have probably just added some effects to make it look that way! You saved me the trouble!
